Quote of the Week is BACK, baby!! 📬

Hiyaaaaa human beings! 👽💫

I know, I know, it’s been a minute. I missed you. Life life’d real hard for a second. First, my CEO came into town, and I told myself, “Okay cool, I’ll just pause the quote this week.” Then the universe said, “Let’s spice things up,” and I got violently sick. Like, full-on coughed-my-lungs-out, lost-my-voice, tea-and-blanket-goblin sick. So… here we are! Back from the dead and ready to sprinkle some wisdom on your week. Thanks for bearing with me, besties 👯‍♀️

This week’s quote comes from the one and only bell hooks. Someone whose words have genuinely shaped the way I see love, healing, resistance, and community:

“Just as cultivating a garden requires turning over the ground, pulling weeds, planting, and watering, doing the work of love is all about taking action.” – bell hooks ✨

bell hooks didn’t just talk about love… she redefined it. She taught us that love is not passive. It’s not abstract. It’s an action. A deliberate, ongoing practice. It’s care in motion. And in a world where so many people are being dehumanized and displaced, we have to remember: real love… like radical love, shows up for others. It rolls up its sleeves. It resists.

Love is organizing.
Love is protecting.
Love is holding space.
Love is raising your voice, and sometimes stepping aside so someone else’s voice can be heard.

Whether we’re nurturing a relationship, building community, or standing in solidarity with those fighting for their safety and dignity — this work takes intention. It takes consistency. It takes showing up even when it’s uncomfortable or inconvenient.

It’s like tending a garden. You don’t just plant the seeds and hope for the best. You get in the dirt. You pull weeds. You water it daily. You care for it like its survival depends on you because sometimes, it does. 🪴

Let this be your gentle nudge to lead with love, but not the fluffy, passive kind. The powerful, intentional, revolutionary kind. The kind bell hooks so fiercely believed in. 💛

'Til next week,
Your favorite slightly-feral, now mostly-healed, quote-loving human ♥️

Trust your journey. Rest your souls, little saplings. Always leave people better than you found them, and have a lovely day and have a revolutionary weekend ahead! 👽🫶🏻🧿🌱
