Hiiiiii my beautiful humans! 👽🐪💛
Memorial Day weekend is here! Are you ready for it? ~Taylor Swift Voice~ LOL Am I okay? I need to go to bed. [I know you’re reading this in the morning, but I write these the night before]. Do you have a 3-day weekend? 4-day? Have you been counting down for weeks or… are you like me and keep forgetting it’s even happening? 🙃 Clearly, I don’t have any big getaway plans if I keep getting surprised by the calendar. Odds are, I’ll be horizontal most of the time. I’ll probably be catching up on sleep like it’s a competitive sport. (Last Saturday? I slept 12 hours. This weekend? Gunning for 15. Ambitious, I know. Let me dream. Literally. 😉)
But whatever you’re doing, whether it’s barbecuing, beaching/at the pool, binge-watching, or blissfully ignoring your inbox, I hope it brings you peace and a break from the usual chaos. And if nothing else, may you be well-rested, well-fed, and surrounded by people (or animals, or pillows) who make your heart feel full.
Now, let’s talk about this quote that’s been living rent-free in my head lately (shoutout Caitlin 💕):
“No revenge because nobody who has ever tried to make me feel small has possessed a life or heart I admire.” — Anonymous ✨
This quote has quietly become a personal mantra of mine. It’s one of those reminders I come back to when someone tries to dim my light, whether intentionally or not. We’ve all been there when someone underestimates you, belittles your dreams, takes passive-aggressive jabs at your success, or tries to make you feel like you're too much, not enough, or somehow both at the same time. 🙄
It’s tempting to want to prove them wrong, to clap back, to mic-drop your way out of the situation with the perfect comeback. But lately, I’ve found peace in something a lot simpler, and stronger: choosing not to let it get to me at all.
What really sticks with me about this quote is how often the people who try to make others feel small are coming from a place of emptiness. Insecurity. Lack. When I actually step back and think about the people who’ve tried to dim my light, the wild part is… I don’t even admire them. I wouldn’t switch places with them. I don’t respect how they show up in the world or how they treat others. I don’t want their energy, their approval, or their way of living. So why would I let their words, or their opinion of me, take up space in my head or heart?
And look, let’s be so for real for a second. Let’s not pretend the desire for revenge doesn’t show up sometimes. We are human beings. When someone hurts us, embarrasses us, or tries to make us feel small, it’s natural to want to do something with that anger. We want to feel like we’ve taken the power back. Like we’ve somehow “won.” But if we’re being honest, does it ever really feel like a win? Most of the time, revenge keeps us tethered to people and moments we’re better off walking away from. It keeps us in their energy, in their mess. And while it might feel satisfying for a second, it rarely brings real peace. It doesn’t undo the hurt. It doesn’t help us grow. And it sure doesn’t help us move forward. What does feel good? Choosing yourself. Walking away. Thriving. Healing without needing to drag anyone through the mud on your way out. That’s the kind of power no one can take from you.
It’s not about revenge. It’s not about proving anything. It’s about protecting your peace. And that kind of strength? Quiet. Steady. Unshakable.
Let them say what they want. Let them do what they do. You just keep being you - fully, loudly, unapologetically. And when someone tries to shrink you, remind yourself: they don’t hold the power here.
You don’t need revenge. You don’t need validation. You don’t need to shrink yourself to fit into someone else’s small world.
Keep expanding.
Keep growing.
Keep choosing softness over spite, peace over pettiness, and strength over noise.
Sending you love, rest, and reminders that you are so much bigger than anyone’s attempt to box you in. 💫
Trust your journey. Rest your souls, little saplings. Always leave people better than you found them, and have an expansive day and have a safe Memorial Day Weekend ahead! 👽🫶🏻🧿🌱
